Yark Automotive Group to Present School Performance of Toledo Ballet’s 83rd Annual Production of The Nutcracker

The Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) is pleased to announce Community Partner Yark Automotive as the presenting sponsor for the student performance of Toledo Ballet’s 83rd annual production of The Nutcracker. This sold-out performance takes place on Friday morning, December 8 at the Stranahan Theater with over 2,000 students from greater Toledo in attendance.

Community Leaders to Perform as Mother Ginger in Toledo Ballet’s 83rd Production of The Nutcracker

Toledo Ballet is excited to announce 4 community leaders who will perform the role of Mother Ginger in Toledo Ballet’s 83rd annual production of The Nutcracker. Shaun E. Graham, Assistant General Counsel at Marathon Petroleum Company LP will perform during the sold-out school performance presented by Yark Automotive on Friday, December 8 at 10:30am. Andrew Newby, CEO and Co-Founder of The Toledo Spirits Company and HEAVY Beer Company, will perform on Saturday, December 9 at 2pm. Michael Ellison, Ph.D, Associate Professor Emeritus from Bowling Green State University will perform on Saturday, December 9 at 7pm. Patrick E. Bowe, President & CEO of The Andersons, will perform on Sunday, December 10 at 2pm. Saturday and Sunday’s performances are presented by Fifth Third Bank.

Houston Ballet Principal Dancers Yuriko Kajiya and Connor Walsh to Dance in Toledo Ballet’s 83rd Annual Production of The Nutcracker

Toledo Ballet is thrilled to announce that this year’s production of The Nutcracker will feature esteemed Houston Ballet Principal Dancers Yuriko Kajiya and Connor Walsh in the iconic roles of Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier. Three public performances presented by Fifth Third Bank take place on December 9 (2pm and 7pm) and 10 (2pm) and a student performance presented by Yark Automotive takes place on Friday, December 8 (10:30am).

Toledo Symphony Announces the 23/24 Buckeye Broadband and The Blade Chamber Concert Series

On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, The Toledo Symphony, a member of the Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts, announced the highly anticipated Buckeye Broadband and The Blade Chamber Concert Series.

The Buckeye Broadband and The Blade Chamber Series will feature four Sunday afternoon performances at 4pm set to take place at the Toledo Museum of Art GlasSalon and Lucille’s Jazz Lounge at TolHouse.

Toledo Ballet Announces Clara, Fritz, and Nutcracker Prince Roles

Toledo Ballet announced the lead roles of Clara, Fritz, and the Nutcracker Prince for its 83rd annual production of The Nutcracker. These roles are traditionally shared across multiple casts. The role of Clara will be performed by Leah Brody (11, Sylvania) and Lily Van Tuinen (10, Maumee). The role of Clara’s brother Fritz will be performed by Reed Dute-Semones (9, Millbury) and Beau Koppitsch (8, Perrysburg). The role of the Nutcracker Prince will be performed by Quinn Otto (10, Sylvania) and Jack Koppitsch (11, Perrysburg).

Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announced the rescheduling of the highly-anticipated Toledo Symphony event Simply the Best: The Music of Tina Turner due to unforeseen circumstances. Originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 30, 2023, the event has been rescheduled to ensure the upmost enjoyment to attendees. The new date for this event is set for Friday, June 7, 2024.

Girl Named Tom, Season 21 Winner of The Voice, to Perform with Toledo Symphony

The Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts announced that Girl Named Tom (Pettisville, OH) will perform with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra for one night only on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the Peristyle. Tickets go on sale on Friday, September 15 at 10am.

Girl Named Tom’s sound is built on the heartfelt voice of Bekah Liechty and her two brothers Joshua and Caleb. During their first year as a band, Girl Named Tom drove their old minivan cross country, playing 67 shows in 27 cities. Girl Named Tom made history as the first trio to ever win The Voice.

Toledo Ballet to Host Conversation with Misty Copeland

Today, the Toledo Ballet announced they will host a conversation and Q&A session with renowned ballerina Misty Copeland. The conversation will take place via Zoom hosted by Toledo Ballet Artistic Director Eric Otto. Guests are invited to attend the event being held at Toledo Ballet studios (located at 5327 Monroe St.) on Saturday, August 19 at 5pm. Attendees will be able to participate in the Q&A and enjoy refreshments, a tour of Toledo Ballet studios, and an overview of the upcoming year at Toledo Ballet. This event is open to the public.

Oliver Hazard and Toledo Symphony perform to Orchestrated Album

Today, the Toledo Symphony and Oliver Hazard announced that they will come together to orchestrate and perform Oliver Hazard’s recently released self-titled album on Friday, October 27 at the Valentine Theatre. This is the first collaboration between Oliver Hazard and TSO. Pre-sale tickets will be available to fans at Oliver Hazard Day this Saturday, August 12. Public sales will begin on Tuesday, August 15.
