Our Suzuki Program

Developed by Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, the Suzuki Method™ believes:

  • that all children are capable of becoming great musicians.
  • We teach music based on how young people learn language. Just as children learn to speak before they read, we teach students by ear first so they can express themselves through music.
  • We encourage students to listen to music - a LOT. Listening offers students a bigger vocabulary for musical expression.
  • We love having families involved in student learning. An adult who supports the student in their home learning is important to success.
  • We offer a positive environment and encouragement in our music lessons.
  • Students take part in group classes, learning with and supporting one another.
  • Our first goal is to support young people in their development as life-long learners with kind hearts!
  • Music gives us skill sets well beyond our instruments, and we focus on developing those alongside our instrumental technique.

What instruments do we offer in the Suzuki tradition?
violin, cello, flute, piano
