Group Classes (3+)

Group classes are an integral part of your music education and as such are included as part of your tuition. You will find that 30 minutes with your teacher each week isn’t enough! Non-TSSM students may also enroll in group class, as long as they are actively studying privately with a teacher. Private teachers help your child progress technically while group class explores skills such as following a leader and playing with others; basically, group class is where students become musicians!

Students who regularly attend group class will be invited to perform at several community events throughout the school year. The Group Class schedule can be found on the TSSM School Year Calendar.

Strings Group Classes

Violin Twinkle Group Class

Twinkle class offers an opportunity for the beginning violinists to get comfortable playing with others and watching leaders. Young violinists will play musical games which polish their skills, all the while having a good time! This class is appropriate for all beginning students and their parents through Go Tell Aunt Rhody. Even if you aren’t playing a violin yet, come join the fun and meet new friends.

Violin Group Class

Appropriate for students currently learning from Suzuki Books 1-3, this class uses common repertoire to develop ensemble and musical skills. Supplemental repertoire will offer the opportunity to learn fun new music. Come join us and be inspired by fellow violinists!

Advanced Violin Group Class

Open to low strings, this class will develop ensemble skills while offering performance opportunities. Although the majority of the repertoire will be from the Suzuki books, supplemental material will be studied as well. Students in Suzuki Book 4 and beyond are encouraged to attend.

Flute

Flute group classes will be scheduled throughout the school year. Ms. Amy Heritage will reach out to coordinate flute classes.
