Summer Flute Camp

About

Join us for a week of music, fun, and friendship at the Summer Flute Camp! Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your skills, this camp is the perfect opportunity for young flute players to dive deep into music, meet new friends, and develop their musical talents.  

This exciting week is packed with dynamic seminars, ensemble work, and plenty of opportunities to grow as a flutist! You'll have the chance to work closely with fellow flute players and professional coaches to improve your skills. 

Camp Details

  • Dates: July 7-11, 2025 
  • Time: 9AM - 4PM (Daily)
  • Location: 4747 Heatherdowns Blvd. 
  • Final Concert: July 11 at 4PM, followed by a reception! 
  • Tuition: $250 for the entire week 
  • Early Bird Registration: $225 tuition if you register by April 15

  • Registration Closes: June 18, 2025 

Eligibility

  • Grades: 7-12, (High school graduates are accepted, and younger students may be accepted upon request)  
  • Instrument: Must have your own flute. Bass and alto flutes will be available for select students.
  • Experience: At least a year of playing is recommended!

Students will be assessed through a simple form and placed at the appropriate level for a personalized experience. 

Schedule

  • 9AM: Seminar 
    Start the day with an engaging, hands-on seminar focused on the holistic development of the musician. Topics will include mindfulness for musicians, performance anxiety techniques, and strategies for building a strong musical mindset. 
  • 10AM: Warm-up  
    Join in a guided warm-up session to get your body and flute ready for a day of music-making. 
  • 10:30AM: Chamber Ensembles  
    Break into small groups and work closely with professional coaches on ensemble pieces, improving both technique and performance. 
  • 12PM: Lunch & Practice Time  
    Take a break and enjoy lunch. You'll also have time to practice and prepare for the afternoon sessions. 
  • 1PM: Flute Olympics  
    Compete in fun, flute-related challenges designed to test your skills, teamwork, and creativity! 
  • 1:30PM: Flute Choir  
    Rehearse exciting ensemble pieces and showcase your skills as part of a larger group. 
  • 3PM: Seminar
    Wrap up the day with a hands-on seminar that includes crafts and activities designed to enhance your musicianship and creativity!
